THE PROCESS

ENROLMENT SPECIFICATIONS
LEVEL 4 (TRAINING COURSES)

Learners must be in possession of a valid matric certificate and have passed mathematics and 2 languages the first being Mother Tongue and the other, a second language. The above requirements will earn learners 58 credits on finishing the qualification (learners must supply a copy of their matric certificate). We also offer courses in mathematics, English and Afrikaans Learners for those learners without these qualifications.

RECOGNISED PRIOR LEARNING

A minimum of 5 years work experience in the industry is required on the same level of enrollment. An official letter on the company letterhead, signed by a Manager with Authoritative Powers in the company, must be presented.

DISTANCE LEARNING

The same requirements as above will apply.

In distance learning -

  • A briefing session will be conducted.
  • The learners will receive the Learning Material and Formative Assessment assignments to be completed in their own time.
  • Electronic and/or verbal assistance will be available.
  • If needed, facilitation is available at an extra cost (minimum of 10 learners required).

COURSE PROGRAMME

The course is based on facilitated, class room styled lessons on unit standards. It is composed of a 12 week programme, consisting of the completion of written assignments in a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE).

COURSE MAKEUP
WEEK 0:
5 notional hours pre-course work.

WEEK 1:
3 full days of training

WEEK 2-7:
Formative Assessment Portfolio completion AND Workplace experience.

WEEK 8 :
3 days Portfolio Building Workshop, Revision AND Summative Assessment.

WEEK 9-10 :
Portfolio assessment.

WEEK 11 :
Portfolio assessment.

WEEK 12 :
Portfolio verification and uploading on NLRB.
